The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index added 1.7 per cent by 10:18 am in Hong Kong, helping to drive the MSCI Emerging Markets Index higher by 0.6 per cent. The Shanghai Composite Index surged 1.6 per cent to trade about 10 per cent up its recent lows. Property and material shares climbed after premier Li Keqiang said the nation will up fiscal support for shantytown redevelopment.
Singapore’s Straits Times Index was trading up 0.8 per cent at 3,022.42 as of 12:09 pm.
