The number of windmills on the skyline around Bunclody will increase, if the Green Energy Trust has its way. The company has applied for renewal of planning permission granted in 2009 for six giant turbines at Ballyshonock east of the town. The cluster of six 80-plus metre high towers is being supported by landholders Andy Doyle, John Nolan and Jim Hendrick.
